The Show Must Go On !

After 10 years of fundraising and 5 years of rebuilding, Nelson's Theatre Royal has recently reopened.
Originally built in 1878, it is one of New Zealand's oldest wooden theatres. Driven by the Nelson Historic Theatre Trust in consultation with the NZHPT, the restoration work began in March 2008 with several million dollars raised to fund it including significant contributions from Nelson City Council and Tasman District Council. The auditorium is much as it always has been but the stage, fly tower, backstage facilities and the front of house area have been completely rebuilt.

Our contribution to this inspiring and challenging project was the installation of our Heritage Luminaire Modus Endeavour Major Pendants customised especially for this project.
